14. Building The House - Red Dead Redemption 2

*SPOILERS for the Epilogue of Red Dead Redemption 2*

Red Dead 2's very lifeblood is strewn across the Old West. You get tiny morsels of it whenever you help an NPC, engage in a frantic shootout, bring home an animal carcass to benefit the camp's food stocks, but it really comes together when you're actively hanging out with other characters.

The first time is one of the campfire party scenes in the main game, but RDR2's Epilogue also features a phenomenally fun sequence where you get to build John Marston's ranch from the first game, plus its perimeter fence and various pens for wildlife.

The song choice, editing and placement within the epilogue are all exemplary, and key to why Red Dead 2 is such an impressive piece of work. This highlights how 80/20 split of drudgery and reward can still feel amazing, if that 20 knocks it out the park.
