16 Biggest Jump-Scares In Gaming

13. Dino Crisis - Tyrannosaurus Rex

Assigning you the role of Regina, a flame-haired member of a special forces team, you are tasked with investigating an island facility where strange goings on have been occurring. You quickly learn that the island has been overrun with time-displaced dinosaurs (subsequently rendering the fossil industry obsolete) who look forward to feasting on the flesh of humans. After gaining a keycard from a control panel you are subjected to the spectacle of shattering glass and a Tyrannosaurus' head edging through, snapping its jaws at the sight of such succulent meat. Couldn't they just have used a pigeon-sized Nemicolopterus instead and saved us from our shortness of breath?

12. Thief - Through The Keyhole

In the reboot of the Thief series you once again assume the role of Garrett, who for all intents and purposes is an exceptional thief and no stranger to peering through keyholes. As you slink around the creepy Moira Asylum with a taste for riches you come across another locked door which your thieving senses tells you to investigate before entering. There he goes thrusting his eyeball to the keyhole trying to see if there is anything of worth (being a nosey...well, thief) when suddenly you are met with the sudden appearance of a ghostly-looking woman telling you that you shouldn't be there. We don't know about Garrett, but we would have certainly scarpered off.
