16 Insanely Underrated PS4 Exclusives You Must Play

1. No Man's Sky

Sean Murray lied, millions cried, No Man's Sky was forever decried, to be lambasted until it died. Or at least, that was the story at launch, as Hello Games and Murray himself have pulled out all the stops to patch the game up, transforming it from an already ambitious space exploration sim, into one with quests, survival elements, vehicles, base building and a gorgeous art style throughout.

Granted, said art style was always there in abundance, looking like some cross between 2013's indie gem Proteus and an Isaac Asimov novel, yet now, the various algorithms that generate No Man's Sky's planets have been rejigged to produce more luscious and individual-looking worlds every time.

Sadly no, there's still no real-time multiplayer, but you are free to carve your own path across the cosmos, building bases, acquiring a range of vehicles, stopping to have fun with the photo mode, chatting to aliens and seeing what crazy-original planets you come across.

Hello Games always touted that their computations would produce 18 quintillion planets, and provided you know what you're going in for - which is to say, not a multiplayer experience and more a relaxing flight/exploration sim - just jetting between a handful of them provides some pretty profound moments.

Best of all, it tends to sell for a fraction of that initial price, too.
