16 Little-Known Gaming Stats That’ll Blow Your Mind

7. The Most Expensive Micro-Transaction In A Game Is $16,000

Without a doubt the biggest scurge to afflict the industry as of yet, micro-transactions represent the 'pay to win' model so many gamers have come to detest. Once restricted to 'In-App Purchases' on mobile gaming platforms, these mini-bonuses have now subtly planted their roots in all manners of triple-A and indie releases, and the most expensive one yet is anything but 'micro' in nature. The micro-transaction in question comes from an MMO title called Age Of Wulin, which prior to its release held an auction (yes, an auction) where players used real money to buy fake stuff in the game. One item in particular was a one-of-a-kind sword that cost $16,000 to own. Almost makes Gran Turismo 6's £120.00 Jaguar seem acceptable, doesn't it?
