16 Most Hotly-Anticipated Video Games Of 2017

15. Scalebound

I'm still not quite sure what to think of Scalebound. Revered action game aficionados PlatinumGames are behind the wheel on this one, but does the Japanese studio have the experience needed to pull off something so ambitious?

To be clear, I'm not at all worried about the flow or quality of combat - all the rough and tumble footage we've seen of Drew and his dragon companion Thuban so far only serves to stimulate my anticipation for some excellent hack and slash action. But the RPG side of things? I'm still on the fence.

How in-depth the skill systems and dragon customisation mechanics in Scalebound are isn't exactly clear as of yet, but I sincerely hope they're an integral part of the gameplay rather than an afterthought to artificially extend replayability.

We'll see. Regardless, i'll be munching on puny monsters as Thuban whatever the outcome when Scalebound finally launches.
