3. Tekken 7
The return of the king (of Iron Fist), Tekken is another landmark franchise releasing its latest instalment on consoles in 2016. Apparently coming out right alongside Street Fighter V, it appears both Namco and Capcom have been buddying up to each other recently, with Tekken's story getting an injection of weirdness thanks to a neat tie between the Mishima bloodline's Devil gene now originating with Street Fighter's Akuma. It all sounds pretty cool, and at this stage you know whether you're a Tekken guy, a Dead or Alive guy, Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, etc. Fighting games in general have mostly been put to the wayside apart from Microsoft's resurrection of Killer Instinct, but even that couldn't give you the same combo fireworks-display as Tekken always guarantees. The roster looks healthier than ever, graphics are gorgeous and rounded off in that 'manga meets real life' way only Namco pull off, and overall it looks like T7's arcade release has helped balance everything out for the full console release.
