The fine chaps over at Remedy are yet to deliver a game that isn't a total masterpiece. Both the original Max Payne titles effectively mastered bullet-time before The Matrix had even taken to going digital, and once they hopped over the generation-gap to release the mind-bending masterpiece Alan Wake, it found its audience in cult horror fans and Twin Peaks fanatics alike. Another generation, another new IP, and this time they've recruited a number of recognisable actors to portray two sides of a pretty cool-sounding sci-fi tale. Shawn 'Iceman' Ashmore and Aiden 'Littlefinger' Gillen will play Jack Joyce and Paul Serene respectively, a contrasting hero/villain combo who, after being involved in a time-manipulation experiment, have developed contrasting powers. Cue the advent of more trademark slow-motion bullet-watching, time-grenades, enemies to fight in amongst temporal rifts with debris floating in mid-air - the whole kit and caboodle. Best of all, the game is reportedly focussed on both Joyce and another main character's story, whilst the TV show that is scheduled to run after release, will flesh out the other characters to give the full picture. A very ambitious project from all angles, but one that could be the best thing Remedy have done yet.
