So far, every single critic or Youtube personality that's managed to don a VR headset and shout about it has had nothing but positive things to say - the only problem, comes with demoing them to a large-scale audience. Sony's segment at E3 that was supposed to show off a Tron-style disc-flinging deathmatch turned into a couple of people who couldn't see the audience, struggle to fill time as the equipment itself didn't register their actions. It reeked of every single time you saw a Kinect, but those who've had a chance to demo it properly still come away championing the feel of having your peripheral vision engulfed in any given experience. From the T Rex-dodging adventures of Robinson: The Journey, to the soaring skies of Eagle Flight or the laser-filled arena-blasting of RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, the technology is going to live and die on word of mouth and reputation, as outlets are still struggling to figure out how to even show you what they're watching.
