16 Severely Underrated Video Games That Deserve A Second Chance

4. Tenchu Z

Remember when you were younger, and you didn't care about frame rates or polished cutscenes? As long as a concept was cool enough and the buttons made something happen on screen, all was well. Well keep those standards somewhat in mind, because Tenchu Z is one of the best stealth games of the last generation if you can look past certain things. Featuring three playable characters, a myriad of levels all packed with huge amounts of variation, a varied system of contextual-based kills that meant you could take anyone out from pretty much any angle (including dangling from a roof) and a plethora of special powers to round everything off, From Software's take on the franchise was a very feature-rich one that capitalised on its potential perfectly. Were there rough edges? Sure, the enemy A.I. could sometimes get stuck in loops and the general sensation of movement wasn't anywhere near as polished as say, Splinter Cell or Metal Gear, but when it came time to gut some dudes' spleens six ways from sunday, this delivered like nobody's business - as well as beating Assassin's Creed to the punch when it comes to a multiplayer stealth mode too.
