16 Worst Video Game Levels Of The Decade (So Far)
11. The Tank Battles - Batman: Arkham Knight
Pretty much any time you see a jarringly out-of-place tonal change that favours pointless action, it's in service of roping in the Call of Duty crowd. COD has become the go-to label of choice for any action-lover, but the figures speak for themselves; every Call of Duty has been in the top three best-selling games of their respective years for almost a decade now.
Back to Batman though, and there's barely a soul on earth who enjoyed these 'tank battles'. It's not that they were just repetitive to play through, but that they didn't need to be in a Batman game, whatsoever. You shoot, dodge, build up special missile barrages - rinse, repeat... about 20 times.
The worst part came when these were tied to pivotal boss battles like the Arkham Knight himself. And as if that wasn't bad enough (oh, it keeps going), upon taking him down, Deathstroke pops up as another figure to chase after.
Except when you do so, it's another tank battle.
Deathstroke. The guy Bats previously went gauntlet-to-blade with in Arkham Origins, reduced to shelling you from across a city block.
Awful, just awful.
