17 Classic Video Games That Must Be Remade
15. Spyro The Dragon Trilogy
Original Release Dates: September 9, 1998 (Spyro the Dragon), Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (November 2, 1999), Spyro: Year of the Dragon (October 24, 2000)
Spyro the Dragon's 20th anniversary is coming up next year, so what better time to bring the much-loved PlayStation platforming icon back for a remake collection of Spyro's first three outings?
Impressively, each successive game in the original Spyro trilogy received stronger acclaim than its predecessor, and it's easy to see how, with a new lick of paint, the games would stand the test of time incredibly well.
How Likely Is It?: The fact that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy just outsold everyone's expectations definitely makes it more likely that Sony will pursue a remake of their other top-tier platforming franchise soon enough.
Though Sony and Vicarious Visions will no doubt want to milk the Crash gravy train for a while, Sony would be daft not to get a Spyro remake trilogy ready for September 2018, and there's a good chance it'll actually happen.
