17 Last-Gen Video Games That Will Be Viewed As Classics In Years To Come
11. Uncharted 2
Uncharted 2 begins with Nathan Drake, our wisecracking hero, waking up in a train that's hanging half off a cliff. That moment sets the precedent for what this game is going to be from now on; a balls-to-the-wall thrill ride from start to finish. While the first game showed us that developers Naughty Dog knew how to make offspring of Lara Croft and Indiana Jones, the second game in the franchise set tongues wagging in ways that Uncharted 1 simply couldn't match. It has all the trademarks of a great adventure. A wisecracking hero, stunning set pieces, eye-catching design and countless memorable moments are all crammed into this one amazing package. This game also showed us just how well fully motion-capped performances by real actors could go to make a believable game world, paving the way for follow-ups such as Uncharted 3, The Last of Us and Uncharted 4. Even to this day, Uncharted 2 still looks excellent and plays brilliantly. What can Naughty Dog do with the power of the PS4 at their fingertips? The result is sure to be something very tantalising indeed.
