2. Ganon - The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

As Breath of the Wild is built on freeform exploration and an invisible guiding hand, actually seeking out the map markers you're presented with produces four different boss battles, all with individual mechanics.

Say you didn't take the time to do this though (BotW can be mainlined in under an hour by sprinting straight for Hyrule Castle), you'll face all four 'mini-Ganons' in a row, before the hulking final encounter presents itself. Narratively though, if you take the time to seek out the four entities beforehand, the heroes you meet along the way combine their efforts to weaken the final version down to half-health.

The feeling of just being face-to-face with such a mythological evil is epic in itself, but knowing Hyrule is counting on you? That's even sweeter.

Ganon has another form, Dark Beast Ganon, where he turns into a Shadow of the Colossus-sized demonic bull; one where the technique to defeat him is actively dodging a searing laser blast, then riding the updraft created by the flames to fire one glorious arrow into his weak spot for the win, all in super slow-motion.
