10. Fallout 4

There's a weird proviso that comes with Fallout 4 being on here: You only really need to play it if you've never played a Fallout game before. See, there's nothing especially unique about F4 that differentiates it meaningfully from its predecessors, New Vegas and 3, but if you're yet to be engulfed by its wondrous systems, it'll blow you socks clean off, before incinerating them with a modded five-barrel laser.

For Bethesda's latest take on their other flagship franchise outside Elder Scrolls, they elected to double-down on the freewheeling exploration of the previous titles. There's a story, sure, but you'll have way more fun building your own elaborately ridiculous homestead, venturing off in a random direction and seeing what establishments or characters you can find - or you'll get lost in the insanely addictive loot system, where every last thing in the game can contribute to another weapon, item or part of your base.

Fallout 4 made it clear that Bethesda are some of the finest world-crafters around, and especially if you've never experienced a Fallout game before, this will make its mark like nothing else.
