6. A Boy And His Blob

A reimagining of the 1989 version that then made its way to the Wii, A Boy and His Blob has finally found its home on PS4 and Xbox One; a much better fit for their endlessly endearing charms.

Playing as the titular boy who befriends the alien blob, it turns out he likes jelly beans. Different flavours morph Blob into an assortment of things, ranging from trampolines to parachutes, bowling balls and more - all of which you'll have to learn to combo in order to solve a variety of puzzles.

Initially pegged as a kids game and later revealed to have a far more taxing edge, A Boy and His Blob is one of those rare platformers; one with old school appeal and buckets of charm, but that plays with the finesse of a modern title.
