18 Greatest Role-Playing Games Of The Decade (So Far)

15. Alpha Protocol

Y'know, despite its array of animation bugs and general lack of polish, I - and many others, judging by the reaction whenever this is included on a list - simply adore Alpha Protocol.

Assembled by Obsidian - a developer known for brilliant ideas and naff execution - it's ostensibly framed as a 'choose your own spy adventure' story, leaving a huge amount of customisation and character interaction up to you. Do you want to play it like Bond, grabbing gadgets and girls at every opportunity? Or how about Bourne, leading with stealth but knowing you can handle yourself in a fight?

The various personalities you meet along the way are awesome additions to the overall story, and whilst yes, there are a ton of primitive hiccups in terms of basic movement and aiming, honestly, it still comes together extremely well.
