2. The First Public E3 In Years Is A Total Debacle
E3 made the controversial decision last year to make the expo open to the public for the first time in over a decade, making 15,000 tickets available to regular punters, which in a consequence just about everyone saw coming, resulted in the show becoming a total clusterf***.
The main issue was overcrowding: attendees, who paid up to $250 for their passes, were forced to queue for potentially hours at a time just to enter the venue, let alone actually play a game for 10-15 minutes.
This is without even mentioning the problem presented for press, who were no longer able to zip across the convention floor from booth to booth due to the surge of people in their way, making it much harder for them to get their job done.
Though E3 has already confirmed that public passes will again be available for this year's show, many have called for them to host separate days for the public and press. Wait and see on this one, but the fact it ended up such a disorganised mess wasn't really surprising to anyone.
