7. Star Trek: Bridge Crew Making You Believe The VR Hype

Maybe it's just me (although the site's stats on how VR articles are performing confirms such things), but I'm yet to 'get' virtual reality. Plenty of press outlets have championed it and sang its praises for months now, but something about strapping a box to your face and looking around some environments with terrible controls just wasn't doing it.

Then came Star Trek: Bridge Crew, and it all fell into place. I'm not even a Star Trek guy, and I thought the concept was awesome.

So the pitch is this: You and your pals are the Enterprise crew. You all sit around in a real-life room, don headsets and then talk to each other as Starfleet cadets, operating control panels, activating deflector shields, exploring and fighting other ships in real time.

I don't know about you, but that just sounds badass.

Imagine having your friends over and group-beaming into your collective favourite franchise's world. The Millennium Falcon? The Shire? Driving round in a jeep and then surviving Jurassic Park?! Bring.that.ON.
