17. Hideo Kojima's Return - "I'm Back"

Now free from the overbearing shackles of corporate overlords, Konami, Hideo Kojima has set about making his most ambitious - and thoroughly ridiculous - game yet. Death Stranding is its name, and you can read all about what was actually happening in the trailer over here, but it was Kojima's actual presence that got the biggest cheer from the crowd.

The lights went down, spotlights highlighted a path for him to walk down as huge curtain hung overhead. He promptly greeted the rapturous crowd with a simple "I'm back!", and the thousands in attendance were more than happy to lavish praise on the storied developer.

Considering Konami had forbade him from attending awards shows for Metal Gear Solid V and crippled its development to meet production deadlines, having Kojima stroll out and be welcomed by all his fans was just incredibly heartwarming.
