10. Heavy Rain
Unsurprisingly, it rains a lot in Heavy Rain. After all, there's nothing like a spot of rain to make us all gloomy, sad and emotional. By far a better game than Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain is an emotionally jarring, incredibly immersive narrative tour-de-force that sees us bond with a varied bunch of characters as they all try to solve the mystery of a child's abduction. Although it divided many with its very quick time event focussed gameplay, I for one loved the change of pace that Heavy Rain delivered. The storyline had all the hooks of a good thriller that kept me guessing all the way through; the experience was unsettling, made me sad, happy and cringing more than a few times as the characters went through massive hardships. Now I'll admit the ending didn't make a whole lot of sense really, but the general experience was by far greater than the narrative's conclusion. Unfortunately the only thing many remember about Heavy Rain is
that scene. You know, the one with...JAASSSOOOONNNNN! JASSSSOOOOOOOOOONNNN! Yeah, that one.
