11. Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection
I have a hard time recommending HD collection games. At the end of the day they're usually just reskinned versions of games you'd played before, but seeing the beauty of Shadow of the Colossus in HD is worth justifying. Whereas too many games go for spectacle over substance, with explosions and fast-paced gameplay to rely on, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are games that require the player to think. Their bleak environments, the sense of discovery and the wonder you feel when you see a Colossus for the first time marry together to make these two games truly something special. Ico, despite being minimalistic, makes you care for the characters as you strive to save them from a hostile world. Shadow of the Colossus challenges you to overcome massive obstacles; you are tasked with killing the Colossi, ancient beings that roam the land where you're left to explore. It remains to this day one of the most thought provoking titles in gaming history, and is reason enough for purchasing this HD package.
