20 Awesome PS4 Exclusives You Need To Play Before PS5
6. Horizon: Zero Dawn
While post apocalyptic fiction is usually all about drab, dismal worlds, Horizon flipped this notion completely on its head. Set in a post-post apocalyptic world, Horizon is truly beautiful to behold, full of popping colour, amazing landscapes and a world you just want to get out in and explore/take copious amounts of pics in using the photo mode.
It's also a title with a fantastic story. Starring Aloy, a heroine who has been shunned by her tribe, you'll traverse across this vibrant landscape doing battle with sentient machines which have been left behind by a previous generation. Nobody knows why the machines are here, and throughout the journey, Aloy learns their secrets through fantastic world-building by developers Guerrilla Games.
The machine designs are great in this; armed with Aloy's arsenal of improvised weaponry such as a bow or the Trip-caster (which allows you to set traps for machines), you'll go up against everything from giant metallic crocodiles to massive, swooping hawks. Combat requires skill and calculation, and the game does an excellent job of routinely throwing new enemy types at you.
If 60+ hours of standard game aren't enough for you, Horizon: The Frozen Wilds is also an amazing expansion for the game, adding several hours more to Aloy's adventure and further setting up the sequel we're getting for PS5, Horizon: Forbidden West.
