Not only are there 100 new Pokémon, but there's also a new region, the ability to explore the region from generation one, a day and night cycle, shiny Pokémon, a better story, berries, the ability to create your own Pokéball, breeding, Pokérus, the ability to have rematches, a phone, the Dark type, friendship, the Steel type, baby Pokémon, genders, better-looking sprites, an epic battle against Red at the end… should I go on?

If it wasn't for their remakes, Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver, Gold and Silver would probably still be the games in the franchise with the most to do.

After these games though, we got something even better with Pokémon Crystal which lets you play as either a male or a female. Yeah, that wasn't an option until now for some reason. The game looks even better, and each Pokémon has an animation when it enters into battle.

It's a miracle that Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal can even fit on the Game Boy, you could spend thousands of hours in these games and still not see everything that there is to see.
