20 Best Gaming Easter Eggs Of The Decade (So Far)

7. Call Of Duty: Black Ops II's Retro Game Collection

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05JvmXXTH04 You probably wouldn't make the connection between Call of Duty and something like ancient pioneering platformer Pitfall, but as soon as you realise publishers Activision have been doing the gaming-dance for decades, it all starts to make sense. Taking place in multiplayer map Nuketown, you need to blast the heads of all the mannequins in the area within one minute and thirty seconds - although you can do so in multiplayer to make it easier. Afterwards, the retro TV in the level will spring to life and you can play four games; Pitfall, Hero, River Raid and Kaboom!, thankfully with emulated controls that are far more responsive than the ancient joysticks of the time - although you're on your own with those graphics and occasionally grating sound effects.
