programming wizardry in Wolfenstein 3D, but it wasn't until 2014's The New Order that the series received another solid release worth recommending over the competition. However, just because the team have many millions of digital miles travelled, doesn't mean they're about to forget where they came from. As such, if you seek out a bed to lie down on when in any of the levels at base HQ, the 'nightmare' that B.J. Blazkowicz enters into is a recreation of the original 3D version. You'll keep your movement speed (and arms) from the new game, but everything else is a trip to retro-town. It's a brilliant way to remind gamers how far the series has come, and like when Metal Gear Solid 4 did the same thing back in 2008, also makes you want to dig out the original too.
