For a time, it felt like Dragon Ball Z was the greatest TV show of them all. Like some Street Fighter-inspired fever dream, fireballs and shouting reigned supreme as super-powered combatants did battle across all manner of extra-terrestrial planets. On the gaming side of things, DBZ has always been pretty solid, the only downside being hamstrung by basing newer games on the same source material. That said, with 2015 came a new injection of life into the series, and although Namco's latest does go back to the well a little too much, its new story sees you design your own custom fighter to get them in on the action. Fights are more of the same high-flying canyon-smashing battles you've come to know and love, and iconic sagas like Frieza, Cell and Buu are all present and correct. It's 'more Dragon Ball', sure, but with enough ingenuity and innovation on the user-side to make it one of the best so far.
