18. Far Cry 4's Villain & Gameplay Revealed, Unique Co-op Features
Far Cry 4 was officially announced a few weeks ago, giving us a glimpse at the box art and the game's villain, Pagan Min. Ubisoft kicked off their conference with the opening 5 minutes of the game, as the protagonist rides in a bus that eventually gets riddled with bullets. After a gunfight, the protagonist is approached by Min, who emerges from a helicopter and takes him under his wing. More so than the plot, the dialogue and voice acting are massively eye-catching, suggesting that Pagan might be able to live up to the manic brilliance of Vaas from the previous game. The footage ends with Pagan murdering an incompetent soldier and turning his attentions to the player, before taking a disturbing selfie with him before leading him onto the helicopter, just as The Clash's classic tune "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" plays out. Unsurprisingly, the clip went down a storm with the E3 crowd, and later on in Sony's conference, we were also shown an extended gameplay clip, which emphasised the game's superb visuals, namely how beautifully destructive the explosions look. The best moment surely came when the player drove a truck off a cliff, only to use their wingsuit to safely escape, before we caught a glimpse of the game's co-op play, where a buddy showed up in a girocopter to give air support. Oh, and elephants can help trample the bad guys for you. Even better than all this, though, was the announcement that any of your friends can play co-op Far Cry 4 with you even if they don't own the game. How freaking awesome is that? Far Cry 4 is out November 18th.
