20 Best N64 Games Ever

15. WWF No Mercy

Frequently cited as the greatest wrestling game of all time, WWF No Mercy really had it all, and it's still difficult to believe they managed to pull it all off on the N64. Ignore the super-irritating menu music ("dig-dig-diggity...dig-diggity-dawg!") and No Mercy reveals itself as a ridiculously comprehensive improvement over WWF WrestleMania 2000, with an enhanced Create-A-Wrestler mode, excellent graphics, backstage brawls, weapon-based destruction and the inclusion of the much-beloved ladder match. It's fair to say that No Mercy was pushing the N64 pretty close to its limit, as there is noticeable slow-down and frame-rate drops when the ring begins to fill up with wrestlers, and this can contribute to making Royal Rumble matches last upwards of an hour, but with gameplay this technical and entertaining, it's hard to complain too much. The low-res audio is headache-inducing and the "Titantrons" (which are glorified low-res image slideshows) are hilariously bad, but where it counts, no wrestling game since has been able to top No Mercy.
