20 Best PlayStation Exclusives Of The Decade
10. Killzone: Mercenary
Guerilla's long running series may not have been able to rival Halo as the PlayStation's killer IP, but they have been solid shooters. Starting way back on the PS2, to having a launch title on the PS4, it's been a beloved series throughout.
Of the two titles made for the Vita, Mercenary stands out as an impressive visual feat. Liberation was a great isometric, twin-stick shooter, which whilst impressive, doesn't hold up to Mercenary. The above screenshot is a testament to how well Guerilla pushed the Vita to make a game look that good.
It's not just graphics that make a game though, as we all know, but the gameplay too. Mercenary plays just as well as its console counterparts: a packed out, full 3D first person shooter that bridges events between the second and third main games.
Until Mercenary showed up, the Vita had meager FPS offerings from Call of Duty and Resistance, both of which just felt like generic ported titles. Yet with Mercenary, you can see Guerilla's love for their IP, which plays as well as it looks.
