20 Best PlayStation Exclusives Of The Decade
1. God Of War
Reboots and reimaginings are usually met with trepidation, but in the case of 2018's God of War, it was the opposite. Fans were getting a bit tired of the quick time-a-thon, constantly angry Kratos and linear gameplay that the God of War series had done so far.
So when the simply named God of War did drop, our minds were blown. Kratos, once a shouty ball of rage now a more stoic, brooding character. Also, he has a son now, and the game isn't strictly linear?! It's not the God of War we know, which many were thankful for.
Fully revised combat, with depth and customisation to suit different playstyles, Kratos and Atreus' journey was a blast from beginning to end. It also helps that each area is stunning, a sandbox-esque journey across the realms of Midgard and beyond.
It showed that any game is successful of revising and refreshing itself, proving that old gods can learn new tricks. Giving Kratos humanity (ironically) added real talking points about the game, rather than it just descending into another tired affair.
