By the time Naughty Dog got to Uncharted 3 they'd completely nailed down the core formula of what Nathan Drake and his adventures were all about, filling out some backstory about father-figure Sully, but more importantly this allowed them to really think outside the box when programming levels to leap around in. Where U2 had the fantastical feat of programming that was the
train sequence (where you literally were playing on a moving train as all the physics of the world interacted with it on the track) part three chose to do a sequence of interconnecting platforms all within a sinking ship, all filling with water along the way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhzMR-vxYIk Trying to keep track of perspective was hard enough, but oh-so rewarding as Naughty Dog kept the difficulty for this section just right, making for a fantastic feeling of accomplishment when you finally emerged victorious at the top of the whole structure.
