18. Kingdom Hearts 3
Finally arriving some 14 years after its last numbered instalment, Kingdom Hearts 3 is nothing less than a hundred million dollar sugar rush.
An excuse to revisit characters fans have loved for almost 20 years at this point, once again Sora is thrown into a war between light and dark, partnering up with Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Jack Sparrow, Big Hero 6's Betamax and a TON more.
Gameplay-wise, combat has been sped up and somewhat simplified, letting you build up and deploy spells in quicker fashion, alongside the ability to trigger some absolutely beautiful summons involving any particular world's characters. Riding a rocket with Buzz and Woody, getting Ariel to whip up a typhoon or just leaping aboard a number of actual Disney attractions - all makes combat one gloriously candy-coloured smush of damage points and memorable sound effects.
Sadly the story is once again a complete mess and almost every scene takes an age to get to the point, but the vast majority of Kingdom Hearts 3 is wall-to-wall energy, and that's more than alright considering how long we've been waiting.
