1. Super Mario Galaxy 2
One of the longest-running debates among gamers is over which game is better, Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Whilst Super Mario Galaxy 2 replaces one of the best Mario characters with a fat star called Lubba, it has more creative level design. Whilst it loses a lot of the atmosphere that the original game had, it has Yoshi.
It comes down to Super Mario Galaxy being a grander Mario tale set in space whilst Super Mario Galaxy 2 is just more fun. Super Mario Galaxy is fun, don't get me wrong, it's just that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is even more fun.
Every new level has multiple creative ideas and it doesn't stop until you've collected every one of those stars. Super Mario Galaxy 2 also introduces some of the most fun power-ups in Mario history, with the Spin Drill which allows you to burrow through planets, the Cloud Flower, allowing you to create clouds underneath you, and the Rock Mushroom, which lets you go bowling with Mario's body.
Yoshi is also given power-ups, each of which are a ton of fun. Super Mario Galaxy didn't even have vanilla Yoshi, but its sequel has powered up Yoshi, rounding out the package nicely.
