20 Biggest WTF Moments In Assassin's Creed History
1. Discovering The Isu's Plan For World Domination
Keep it simple, Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed should be about murdering people, lots of them. There’s no need to complicate such a wholesome, inherently compelling premise. You’re an assassin, exploring some of the most beautiful historical settings, stabbing people violently in their most vital arteries. Why would that ever not be enough?
Unfortunately, in Assassin’s Creed 2, Ezio encounters a group of superhuman individuals, who are later revealed to be 'The Isu'’, an ancient precursor to human civilisation. It’s even suggested that the Isu created humanity itself, as well as the Pieces of Eden. They’re essentially Gods, appearing sporadically throughout the series, influencing the actions of the characters and generally engaging in all kinds of mischief and mayhem.
Their plan? World domination, or something along those lines. Honestly, at this point, it’s difficult to say. From the moment they were introduced, they've been nothing but a nuisance, confusing the plot and distracting my attention from all that lovely stabbing.
They’re an unnecessary inclusion, a superfluous absurdity, serving only to muddy the narrative and make our heads hurt.
