17. The Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit

Over the years there have been plenty of celebrities and other famous folk have had their likeness - let's say - borrowed for a Grand Theft Auto game. All manner of unflattering cameos have featured in the series, but for the most part Rockstar Games have managed to keep their hands clean of any real slander.

With GTA V, however, that changed dramatically. Actress Lindsay Lohan was granted the ability to file a lawsuit against Rockstar Games for claims her likeness was used in GTA V on two separate occasions without permission. Rockstar bosses said there was "no merit" in this, yet the case was initially allowed to proceed anyway.

The fact that Rockstar's game caused offence to a celebrity with a likeness in their game is hardly surprising. Given how minimally the character featured and how tame the character was in comparison to others, the fact that Lohan saw fit to make such a stink out of the affair was the real WTF moment.
