This might seem like a strange selection but the immense popularity of the Wii and this game (helpfully bundled with the console) has cemented its place in gaming history. There's a reason why the game was bundled with the console too; no game showcases the potential for motion gaming better than Wii Sports. The most obvious advantage is that anybody can pick it up and play. Not everyone knows how to play a round of golf on the latest Tiger Woods game; but everybody knows how to actually swing something in the fashion of a golf club. Simplifying gameplay in that manner won't appeal to gaming's hardened veterans but it's the best way to make something family-friendly; one reason why Wii Sports was so successful is because of this appeal to the masses. We'd would wager that everybody who's owned a Wii at some point in their life has been engaged in some friendly competition on Wii Sports. Bowling, for example, is the easiest game in the world to pick up and play, yet it becomes pretty challenging when you're playing against family and friends, desperately trying to hit as many strikes as you can. That's just one example of how the game can breed competition; there's various stories of bowling leagues and tennis tournaments from around the globe stemming from Wii Sports.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
