20 Crowdfunded Video Games That Made Millions

16. Obduction - $1.3 Million

Coming 20 years after the release of Myst, Obduction is said to be the spiritual successor to the famed graphical puzzle game and its sequel, Riven. The campaign passed its $1.1 million target, showing there are plenty of people still hungry for this genre of game. Obduction is set on a mysterious alien world, and is said to parallel the experience of Myst. While some detractors of Cyan Inc's previous games compare them to nothing more than interactive photo albums, it is claimed that Obduction will give the player the choice of having much more control over the gameplay, or, if they prefer, to opt for the classic Myst and Riven system instead.
