20 Essential Gaming Sequels That Must Be Announced In 2014
10. The Legend Of Zelda Wii U
Nintendo famously teased fans of The Legend of Zelda franchise at 2012's E3 by showing off a tech demo of a new Zelda game running on the Wii U, and then word went quiet...and has continued to. Late last year, Nintendo then revealed that the first HD game to star Link would be Hyrule Warriors, a bizarre crossover between the worlds of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors, to the collective bemusement and irritation of many a Zelda fan. The game is due for release sometime in 2014, though one can't shake the feeling that this is probably taking away precious development and PR time from the game everyone actually wants to play: the new, fully-fledged Zelda Wii U game. Given how the Wii U can really use a few wins right now, announcing a new Zelda game could certainly help regain a little momentum for Nintendo, even if revealing the game at E3 2014 (as has been hinted at) may reek of over-saturation considering that Hyrule Warriors will still be unreleased at that point. Given the dire position the Wii U is in, it's easy to let that one go, however. Nintendo flat-out needs to announce this game as soon as possible.
