20 Essential Gaming Sequels That Must Be Announced In 2014

6. Crysis 4

Crysis was a groundbreaking game when it first launched in 2007, delivering breathtaking visuals and outstanding gameplay thanks to the real star of the show, the versatile nanosuit which would allow the user to exhibit incredible strength, resistance, speed and cloaking abilities. The second game built on this by introducing a divisive concrete jungle setting, and then last year's Crysis 3 was a firm compromise, depicting an "urban rainforest" of sorts, which covered both the bases of the previous games. Crysis 4 was tacitly confirmed to be on the cards last year, though Crytek's higher-ups have kept their cards close to their chests, declaring, "We are now talking about what we can do in taking the Crysis franchise into a new space and do something different outside of the story we have been telling with this trilogy." Some believe this may take the series outside the FPS sphere, and possibly even into the F2P world, though at this point it is really just conjecture. The longest gap between releases to date has been 3 years, so we should probably expect Crysis 4 in our hands by 2016, and as such a 2014 reveal is definitely not outside the realm of possibility.
