19. Borderlands 3

The Borderlands series has gone from strength to strength, with the first game being a significant hit, and then the second becoming one of the best-selling games of 2012, and with 8.5 million units sold, easily becoming 2K Games' most profitable title to date. Unlike most video game sequels, production on a third Borderlands did not begin as soon as those sales figures began rolling in, and according to Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford last month, the game is not being worked on, even if other projects in the Borderlands world are. A lot can change in 9 months, and while we have no reason to think that Pitchford is lying to us for the sake of a surprise, we'll have to cross our fingers and hope that Borderlands 3 is at least officially announced if not outright unveiled by year's end.
