True to its name, the Bloody Mess perk in Fallout 3 & New Vegas delights in endowing players with the power to cause total bodily destruction. Forget about the permanent 5% damage bonus to all weapons that comes with the buff - you're choosing Bloody Mess for one reason and one reason alone; gore galore. Regardless of whether you're hauling around heavy-duty miniguns or travelling light with a simple pistol and rifle combo, a bullet from any source (as long as you're the one holding it, of course) has a rather high chance of turning lumbering Super mutants, frail Ghouls or murderous Deathclaws into hundreds of bony fragments to be swept away by the radioactive wind. There's only one downfall to all this dismemberment though; precision kills are nigh on impossible. Due to the randomly activated nature of Bloody Mess, any quests or missions that require a specific body part be removed (there's more of those than you think) will, more often than not, result in you not even being able to discern which limbs are which after just one shot. https://youtu.be/vQ0NRm7lSTk
