7. Manhunt/Manhunt 2 - Kill Or Be Killed
There's not really much that needs to be said about Rockstar's risqué survival horror series - pretty much the entire world knows what it's about and what you can do in it thanks to overzealous coverage from the mainstream press. Sure, it's gory as all hell, but Manhunt's content is no worse than say, Gears Of War or
Mortal Kombat . No, the reason why Manhunt rubbed a lot of people the wrong way (and caused sensationalist news outlets to blame it for every crime committed by an adolescent) was due to misinformation and player motive. I mean, being cast in the role of an abducted death row inmate forced to partake in a live recording of a snuff movie isn't exactly the best way to win over the skeptics, but Rockstar took the plunge and did it anyway. Imagine, if you can, the most brutal way you could kill someone; you could probably carry it out in Manhunt. Asphyxiation, execution, bludgeoning, stabbing,
drilling - those are all terms that apply here. It may look considerably dated by today's standards, but you still need a strong stomach to carry out the more extreme acts that this has to offer.
