20 Greatest Commodore Amiga Games Of All Time

1. Sensible World Of Soccer

The surprising thing about Sensible World of Soccer was that you didn€™t need to have any interest in the sport to enjoy it, such was its amazing and addictive gameplay. Of course if you were a soccer (or football, depending where you€™re from) fan, then this was something you could spend months on. It had taken the magnificent Sensible Soccer engine from a couple of years previous, improved upon it, and added a career mode. Now you had a brilliant managerial element combined with the best soccer game ever made at the time. You could play as a straight out manager: transfer players, pick formations and sit back and watch the matches, but most fun was had in the player-manager mode, where you could get out onto the field and influence the games yourself. Your career lasted 20 game years, with more high profile jobs becoming available the better your teams performed. You could even rise to the ranks of an international manager. Sensible World of Soccer was named by Amiga Power as the best game ever made on the platform€™s history. It was also placed in a Stanford University list of The top ten most influential games of all time. All this from a sports game that only had one action button. Are there any we missed?
