18 Greatest Video Game Villains Of The 2000s

6. Volgin - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

A hulking bisexual opposing force standing between you and nuclear destruction throughout MGS 3, Volgin's combination of military tactics, cutscenes where he tortures innocent characters and the fact he single-handedly kicked off the Cold War - alongside the fact he can conduct thousands of volts of electricity just by willing it into being - the couple of times you fight him are daunting to say the least. That, and he can shoot bullets straight from his hands by holding them and sending a current through his fingertips. Very slick. Oh, and did you know at the opening of the game when he utters the phrase "Kuwabara, Kuwabara" it's referencing an old Japanese tale centred around a phrase children were told to say during thunder storms to prevent evil forces stealing their belly buttons? There's your fact of the day.
