Year: 2008 Platform: PlayStation 3 Valkyria Chronicles managed to do rather well commercially, in terms of worldwide sales. However, the vast majority of those sales were in Japan, meaning that many western gamers won't have even heard of this classic PlayStation 3 title. Valkyria Chronicles is a tactical role-playing game with third-person shooter elements, allowing players to progress through a series of battles that are far larger in scale than most RPGs. It's a deep, rewarding system that rewards patience and quick thinking, with the player able to assume command from an overhead map as well as zoom in to control individual units as in third-person.
