Developed by kings of cinematic gaming Naughty Dog, The Last of Us is set in a post-apocalyptic USA ravaged by a terrifying fungus that turns victims into mindless, cannibalistic monsters. The Last of Us is marked by a strong emotional core, that really draws players into the relationship between protagonists Joel and Ellie. The gameplay, while slick, isn't particularly anything special, but the presentation and narrative storytelling is phenomenal. Filled with moments that vary in equal parts between heartbreaking and uplifting, The Last of Us is an unforgettable experience that every gamer, not just zombie fans, really needs to play through.
