Developer: Capcom Released: 2002 Platform: GameCube This survival horror exclusive for the GameCube is a total remake of the game that started off Capcom's immensely popular franchise. Featuring vastly better graphics, improved gameplay and additional content, 2002's Resident Evil is the perfect traditional zombie survival horror game. Looking at screenshots of Resident Evil, especially when outputted at a high resolution, it's incredible to think that this game was made over 12 years ago. Atmospheric, tense, and pant-wettingly terrifying, this is absolutely the quintessential Resident Evil experience. While many survival horror games focusing on zombies don't tend to be particularly frightening, Resident Evil is very, very scary. Best of all, after years of fan requests, Capcom have announced that the game will be getting an HD remaster, released on the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC next year.
