Coming out towards the tail-end of the Megadrive's life, Comix Zone was unlike any other game on the console, offering players the opportunity to explore a digital comic while kicking the crap out of a whole range of beasties.

It featured absolutely stunning graphics that are amongst the best of the Megadrive era, in addition to a soundtrack that could match up to any other game on the console. It was so good that a version of it was released on a CD that came with the game.

It was also damned hard, with many players still having yet to complete the four levels that it features. Still, if you could get to grips with the fighting system, it was one of the most enjoyable experiences on the console.
