1. The Only Movies More Expensive Than GTA V Are The Last Two Pirates Of The Caribbean Films
And finally, GTA V currently ranks as the third most expensive video game ever produced (adjusted for inflation), sitting behind last year's Destiny ($500 million) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ($275 million). In 2015 money, GTA V cost a huge $268 million to date, which is a good $55 million above the fourth entry, Final Fantasy VII. Even Hollywood can't really keep up with that price tag, because the only two movies to date to cost more than GTA V are the third and fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movies, At World's End ($300 million) and On Stranger Tides ($378.5 million). Anyone who is still under the delusion that video games are a lesser medium to movies need only look at these figures (and their subsequent profits) to see that it simply isn't the case.
