19. Santa - Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat is a series renowned for its humour. Nobody is going to argue tearing out a mans heart or casually removing their spine is anything other than Major LOLz, but amongst the blood and the carnage there was also Santa gliding across the moon in MK1s pit level. Sadly, in the days before the Internet, most gamers thought it was a sign to switch off after too much Kombat. But it wasnt. To unlock it, you had to win by two flawless victories and a fatality, only then would the jolly fat man appear, signalling that you were about to be transported to the belly of the pit to fight the first ever incarnation of Reptile. Whilst this sort of egg is quite common these days, for the gamers of the 90s, it was hard to believe you were holding a man's skull in front of old Father Christmas himself.
